By leveraging advances in Intel® processors, Gamestream’s cloud gaming service offers players the ability to play the latest and greatest games online – in high definition, of course!Gamestream uses two strategies to deploy and optimize their service: virtual and physical. With a virtualization-based strategy, server access is shared between several players. Gamestream’s solution relies on servers powered by Intel® Xeon® Processors and Intel® Visual Compute Accelerator add-in cards. With a physical hardware-based solution, each player gets access to a machine in a data center. Gamestream offers systems powered by the Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1585 v5 which includes integrated Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics P580. This helps us control our operating costs by allowing users to play games without relying upon a discrete GPU.Gamestream will be demonstrating both these solutions at GDC Europe from August 15-16 in Intel Booth #131. Come visit us to learn more about the new generation of cloud gaming!David Kossovsky is the Manager of Operations at Paris, France-based Gamestream. The goal of cloud gaming technology is to transfer the processing power required to play games from home devices like a PC or console to the larger capabilities of a datacenter. This change is faces two main technical challenges. The first challenge is the optimization and adaptation of software and hardware to control operating costs. The second challenge is the continuing demand for the latest and greatest hardware. As players increasingly demand high-quality games, the hardware needed to support high levels of performance requires rapid upgrade cycles. As an example, it took only 3 years for console builders to replace 3rd generation consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox One* or Sony’s PlayStation* 4 with 4th generation units like the Xbox One S or PS4 Neo. Therefore, cloud gaming services need to be equipped with the most recent hardware and renew its hardware as fast as console builders do. This rapid refresh environment is also powered by gaming publishers who are constantly releasing new titles.Virtual Vs. Physical By David Kossovsky, Manager of Operations, Gamestream. The transformation of usage models from physical distribution to unlimited streaming of content is a trend that spans across all entertainment industries – from music to movies to gaming. However, each of these industries is at a different stage of this paradigm shift. Right now, only the music industry possesses a mature streaming model; in the movie industry, the landscape is still in flux. Finally, this trend is just emerging in the video game industry. It took the music industry over a century to switch from a physical distribution model to a digital distribution model and only 4 more years to evolve to unlimited file streaming. The democratization of broadband access since the 2000s and the small size of audio files (only a few megabytes each) have made this transformation possible. Technical considerations have not hampered the overhaul of the music industry towards a streaming model. For the movie industry, it took 20 years to switch from a physical model to a digital distribution model and only a decade to switch to unlimited streaming. Like the music industry, the transformation of the cinematic industry is closely linked with access to high-speed Internet broadband networks that allow the transmission of large quantities of data required to download or stream HD movies and television programs.Currently, the distribution of video games is still dependent on physical and downloadable models. However, the evolution of the music and movie industries leads us to believe that the gaming industry is set to follow the same pattern. The unlimited streaming model in the video game industry is still in its early stages and its development is confronted with several technical challenges, as we’ll explain. The technical challenges of a “new generation” of cloud gaming.

The Wildcat star caught 106 passes for 1,515 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, and is showing off some of the skills that led to that remarkable season during Senior Bowl practices this week. Northwestern State cornerback Imoan Claiborne got the worst of it during today’s practice. CBS Sports projects Lockett as a second or third rounder. Sophomore setter Taylor Hughes (6) sets the ball during a match with Wisconsin on Nov. 2 at St. John Arena. She had 45 assists and 11 kills on Friday. Credit: Jenna Leinasars | Assistant News DirectorA 2-1 set lead wasn’t enough for the Ohio State Buckeyes to withstand a comeback from No. 3 Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament Sweet 16. OSU dropped the final two sets to lose 3-2 in the regional semifinal. Wisconsin freshman outside hitter Molly Hagerty and senior setter Lauren Carlini sent the Buckeyes home with their third five-set loss in the Sweet 16 in three consecutive seasons. Hagerty ended with 22 kills and Carlini totaled 62 assists.Junior outside hitter Luisa Schrimer led the Buckeye effort with a double-double, 19 kills and 18 digs. Senior middle blocker Taylor Sandbothe also posted 13 kills. The momentum was with the Badgers from the first serve of the set. A poor starting performance put the Buckeyes out of system, and the team was quickly down 6-1. OSU found themselves trying to climb out of the hole throughout the opening set. Even after showing signs of life near the set’s conclusion, the Buckeyes were still down by a ten-plus point deficit. OSU ended the set hitting negative-0.026 as a team. The Buckeyes came out in the second set with a much more commanding presence. They held onto a steady lead into the set, forcing Wisconsin to take its first timeout at 13-8 after a sneaky setter dump by sophomore Taylor Hughes. Wisconsin creeped back into contention at 23-21, and the home Badger crowd erupted. Sophomore outside hitter Audra Appold wrangled in a kill for the first Buckeye set point, followed by an error by the Badgers for the OSU set win. The strength of the Big Ten conference was evident to start the third set, as both teams went point-for-point to gain the set advantage. A crucial four-point run by the Buckeyes put them up 14-9 before a Badger stop. Wisconsin’s Tionna Williams guided the team on their own run, and the Badgers quickly took back the lead. The tension in University Fieldhouse grew as the final points of the set dropped. Badger fans were on their feet as the score was tied at 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29. Finally, a Wisconsin service error followed by a block by Hughes ended the set and put the Buckeyes up 2-1. OSU had control of both sides of the ball as they increased an opening fourth-set lead over the Badgers, 12-8. Wisconsin’s composure was tested when two balls that went in OSU’s favor steadily increased the Buckeyes’ lead. The Badgers quickly battled back with a six-point run to seat the Buckeyes on an edge. Wisconsin prevailed and yet another five-set match ensued for OSU. Wisconsin’s Haleigh Nelson gave the Badgers a two-point advantage (5-3) to start the fifth and final set. At the mid-set side change, Wisconsin led OSU by only one point. The Badgers earned the first set point from an OSU service error and Nelson secured the final point for her team to advance to the regional final against the winner of Florida State and No. 6 Stanford. The Buckeyes finished 22-13 on the year.

And we will do that tomorrow [Thursday] morning,” Emery said, according to ESPN.“We are going to change some players because we need to give some players minutes.”“But thinking [also] about our performance and our progress with the players. We are going to change and also in the 18 players there is two young players. But tomorrow we are going to give them the first XI.”The ex-Sevilla manager also revealed that Stephan Lichsteiner will make his first start for the club on Thursday as well. The Switzerland captain joined the Gunners on a free this summer from Juventus and made his debut as a substitute in their opening weekend Premier League loss to champions Manchester City, replacing Aisley Maitland-Niles who suffered an injury setback in the game.
Juventus are among the favourites for the Champions League this season according to former Italian manager Marcello Lippi.Lippi who is a Bianconeri legend was the last tactician to win the trophy in 1996 when they defeated Ajax in the final. However, the World-cup winning coach thinks Juve can end that hoodoo this season.“Juve are among the favourites for the Champions League this season,” Lippi said on Radio Sportiva.“They’re in a group with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.“Until last year they could enter that group, but they weren’t there automatically. However, I think the other Italian teams are a bit more far away.”Juventus confirm Mario Mandzukic could leave this month Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Sporting director Fabio Paratici confirmed reports that Mario Mandzukic could leave Juventus for a move to an unnamed Qatari team.Lippi won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, and the last international break saw the first XI which didn’t feature any of those players.“It means we’ve become old, not just me but my players too!“Joking aside, Italy – as Milan are doing – should take some players who have done well as points of reference and build on those players.“I think they’re in good condition; we’re not so bad. We have good players like [Federico] Bernardeschi, [Federico] Chiesa, [Bryan] Cristante and [Lorenzo] Pellegrini but I like everyone.“Now they’re all playing for their club teams which proves that, even if there are a lot of foreigners, it’s not true that Italy isn’t producing players.“Obviously we’re upset now because we didn’t qualify for the World Cup, but it’s right to be patient with this group of players.”

I saw that, after his good mate Gareth Barry, he is the second-youngest to reach this milestone. It blows my mind when I see how fit and strong he is that appearance number one came back in 2002 when he was just 16 years old!“He won’t thank me for saying any of this so I’d better leave it there, but given how he fit he still is now, 600 or even 700 games can’t be ruled out in the future. On behalf of all the players it was a privilege to be part of game number 500.”
Facebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsApp#TurksandCaicos, January 19, 2018 – Nassau – The Government of The Bahamas will “respond aggressively” to recommendations made by the Ease of Doing Business Committee in an effort to address the global outlook on ease of doing business in The Bahamas. The ‘Ease of Doing Business’ Committee was appointed last year by Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Hubert A. Minnis after a 2017 World Bank Annual Report listed The Bahamas as 119 out of 190 countries for ease of doing business.Economies are ranked from 1-190 on their ease of doing business with one being the best possible rating and 190 the worst. The Bahamas was also ranked 108 out of the 190 countries with regards to starting a new business. The Committee used the 10 categories established by the World Bank to make recommendations to the Government.“Having been a businessman for many years, I know the frustration that business owners feel in complying with certain government processes,” Prime Minister Minnis said. “I wish to assure the Bahamian people and the Committee that the Government will respond aggressively to the recommendations, including making the necessary legislative and regulatory changes.”Addressing the annual Bahamas Business Outlook Seminar Thursday, (January 18, 2018), Prime Minister Minnis said while The Bahamas was “clearly better” than a number of countries in the Ease of Doing Business rankings, “there is considerable and urgent room for improvement across the board, especially if we seek to be world class.” The Prime Minister detailed additional rankings for the country contained in the June 2017 Report. In terms of dealing with construction permits, The Bahamas was ranked at 106. Dealing with construction permits involves the procedures, time and cost to build a warehouse. The Bahamas ranked 117 in obtaining electricity (this involves the procedures, time and cost required for a business to obtain a permanent electricity connection for a newly constructed warehouse). For registering property, the country was ranked 167, a designation the Prime Minister called “a terrible ranking.” Registering property concerns procedures and the time and cost to register commercial real estate. The country was ranked 142 out of the 190 countries insofar as obtaining credit was concerned and was ranked 55th for paying taxes and 74th for enforcing contracts.Prime Minister Minnis said the use of paper confirmation and written certifications from applicants during the application process for various licenses and permits in The Bahamas – including original paper confirmations to demonstrate that applicants have paid their taxes to other government agencies or have complied with certain requirements of other government agencies — has in the past consumed a significant amount of time and often comprises an inefficient burden for applicants as well as those government agencies that have to sort through volumes of documents created.Using the Business License application process as an example, Prime Minister Minnis said an idea for reform is for government ministries to instruct their agencies, departments and employees to review their license and permit application processes in order to eliminate, wherever possible, the paper confirmation and certification requirements from other government agencies and substitute the same with direct agency to agency contact to acquire the information.“The enhancement of E-government systems could make this an efficient technology-driven process for the government,” Prime Minister Minnis said. “It is easier for a government employee to obtain confirmations from another government employee by an internally agreed-upon method, than for the private sector to collect numerous paper confirmations from the front desks of various government agencies.”By: Matt Maura (BIS)Photo Caption: Prime Minister Minnis, centre, at Bahamas Business Outlook on Thursday, with, from left: Writer Patricia Glinton-Meicholas; Baha Mar President Graeme Davis; The Counsellors Ltd.
