Bridge inspection to cause Highway 14 delays
An inspection on the West Camas Slough Bridge is expected to cause delays on state Highway 14 on Saturday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The bridge will be reduced to a single lane between 5:30 and 10 a.m. Saturday, according to WSDOT as crews inspect new features on the span in Camas. Workers recently added a median barrier, upgraded sidewalks and guard rails as part of a $50 million expansion of Highway 14. The inspection will allow crews to take measurements and inventory of the new additions, according to WSDOT.Flaggers will direct traffic during the lane closures on Saturday. The entire project widens Highway 14 to four lanes from the end of — but not including — the West Camas Slough Bridge through Sixth Street in Washougal. Work is expected to wrap up next year, according to WSDOT.
